Sustainability and Ethics
Our Approach
At Susi Bellamy, we believe beautiful interiors should be created with care for both people and the planet. As an independent British brand, we make considered choices about how our products are designed, produced and delivered, prioritising quality, longevity and responsible sourcing wherever possible.
Designed to Last
We design timeless pieces intended to be enjoyed for many years rather than following short-lived trends. By creating products with enduring appeal and using high-quality materials, we encourage thoughtful purchasing and a slower approach to home interiors.
Made in Britain
We are proud that our products are printed and made in the UK by skilled artisan makers and specialist manufacturers. Producing locally allows us to support British craftsmanship, maintain close relationships with our suppliers and reduce transportation distances associated with overseas manufacturing.
By working with independent British businesses, we help support local economies and contribute to preserving traditional skills and specialist expertise. We value the knowledge, care and attention to detail that our makers bring to every stage of the production process, helping to ensure that each product is crafted to the highest standard.
Keeping our supply chain close to home also enables us to build strong, long-term relationships with our manufacturing partners, giving us greater oversight of production methods, materials and quality control. This collaborative approach allows us to make considered decisions, maintain high ethical standards and respond thoughtfully to demand.
Shorter supply chains mean fewer transport miles and reduced reliance on complex global networks, helping to lower the environmental impact associated with manufacturing and distribution. It also gives us the flexibility to produce in smaller batches, reducing excess stock and minimising waste.
At Susi Bellamy, choosing to manufacture in Britain reflects our commitment to quality, transparency and supporting the talented craftspeople and businesses that continue to keep British manufacturing thriving.
Responsible Production
We produce in small batches to minimise waste and avoid unnecessary overproduction. This approach enables us to respond thoughtfully to demand, reducing excess inventory and ensuring that products are made with intention rather than in volume.
Thoughtful Packaging
We aim to keep our packaging as environmentally responsible as possible. Our postal boxes and mailing bags are manufactured in the UK from recycled materials and are fully recyclable. We continually review our packaging choices to reduce waste while ensuring products arrive safely. You may receive your order in a reused box to help us with waste produced in our studio.
Supporting Local Businesses
Wherever possible, we choose to work with local suppliers, manufacturers and independent businesses. Keeping production close to home helps reduce transport emissions while supporting regional economies and skilled British makers.
