2017 has been a fantastic, and exciting year for my fledgling business. From being a single product brand (luxurious cushions), I have now expanded my range across the spectrum of interiors to include wallpaper, fabric, lampshades and even a capsule range of scarves. Though it has not been without its’ challenges, looking back on 2017 has proved a positive exercise which fills me with excitement for what is to come.
January 2017 - Showed at Top Drawer in London
We had an exhibit at Top Drawer down at the Kensington Olympia and made many new connections - some of which have gone on to become suppliers and partners in the business!
February 2017 - first collection for Heals
When Heals, the iconic design store based in London and with other stores across the country, approached me to design an exclusive collection for them, I was honoured and excited. Pictured here is the first marbled velvet collection for S/S 2017. I am pleased to say that I am now launching my third collection for them next month of silk/cotton geometric designs - a brand new direction for me so watch this space to see it develop. Heals will also be offering co-ordinating lampshades to go with this new range for the first time.
April 2017 - Collaborated with Forwood Designs
Our friends at Forwood designs lent us some of their beautiful faux shagreen lamp bases, which complemented our velvet lampshades perfectly! We used these at the trade shows and they garnered many compliments from passers-by.
July 2017 - Hosted our first pop-up shop in London
We partnered with some other creative minds to host a week-long summer showroom on Fulham Road in Chelsea.
August 2017 - Launched our new website
We launched a new site with a fresher, more contemporary look which we felt better reflected our collection.
September 2017 - Showed at Decorex in London for the first time
We launched our newly expanded home collection at high-end interiors show, Decorex, at Syon Park in September.
November 2017 - Won a Northern Design Award for Best New Interior Product
We were thrilled to receive local recognition for the development of our product. This award was presented by Abercrombie’s, a mainstay of the local interior design scene, which made winning all the sweeter!
