Hot Geometrics

Multi Blocks Square Cushion

Although this summer feels a little different from others, some things don't change. When it gets hot, we crave brighter, juicy colours! I probably shouldn't advertise this - but I often spend as much time in shops poring over beautiful fashion as I do in museums staring at paintings. The glorious, unapologetic prints on show at Pucci, Mary Katrantzou and Peter Pilotto's resort collections have undoubtedly seeped into my work and nowhere is this more evident than my range of Silk geometrics.

So why are my 'hot Geometrics' the perfect cushions for a summer refresh? It's very simple...

Multi Grid Square Cushion

1. Light Fabric

I moved away from the velvets for this range and instead made these cushion covers in a silk-cotton blend (40% silk, 60% cotton) which gives them a soft, sheeny look and a satiny feel that is more suited to the warmer weather.

2. Bold Colours

Bright sunlight calls for colours that don't fade away and instead leap out from their surfaces to catch the eye! For this range, I played around with a colour palette inspired by the pop art of the 60s and 70s and the pinks and yellows of the most photo-worthy sunsets. The retro influences in the wallpapers would give any room a hint of the Instagram-worthiness of Sketch London!

3. Contemporary Prints

The prints on the series are pulled from a photographic series I created using the 'trending tones' of the season on a variety of geometric blocks. I took these into my studio and experimented with composition before tiling and mirroring them to create graphic forms.
